"This 2018 Ontario peach WPF variant is the reason that we had to bring in extra employees this past summer, and the culprit for our staff-wide carpal tunnel epidemic (we were dumb enough to de-pit and crush 3000ish lbs of fruit by hand). The good news is, the beers you suffer most through often turn out the best -- and this one is the bestest. Incredibly strong aromatics and flavours of fresh peach compliment an already delicious base beer. The carbonation remains front and centre, holding up the massive stonefruit notes with ease while allowing subtler brett notes to play in the background. "

Farmhouse Ale & Ramen
Farmhouse Ales are approachable, parfumey, lightly floral beers with a light body, a lower ABV, and notes of fruits and spices. The beer is often very dry and super effervescent with a distinct bitterness and hence needs a dish that can stand up to it. Since the beer is light enough for a hot summer day as well, the food doesn’t need to be heavy but spiced up to the max. Ramen noodles are the obvious choice here. The distinct yeast flavor matches the umami notes of the ramen and all notes of spices and fruits stand up to the Asian spices in the broth.
Farmhouse Ale
A farmhouse ale - or saison as its also known - is a refreshing, highly-attenuated, moderate-strength Belgian ale with a dry finish. Typically highly carbonated, and using non-barley cereal grains and optional spices for complexity, as complements the expressive yeast character that is fruity, spicy, and not overly phenolic. It features an harmonious marriage of the additive and beer, but still recognizable as a beer.
Bellwoods Brewery began as a small brewpub in the west end of Toronto in 2012. The styles we’re interested in brewing range greatly, and we always remain open to new ways of making beer. For the most part, our current efforts are devoted to aromatic hoppy stuff, crisp lagers, barrel aged wild blends, fruit-forward zingers, and the occasional barrel aged stout. There’s always a new, creative project waiting in the wings.
