Imperial Stout aged in Madeira Barrels + the new LP from Ring Them Bells "Things That Come Slow"
New collaboration between Mikkeller and rock band Ring Them Bells.
"12,5% - That’s how powerful a beer by Mikkeller’s Warpigs Brewpub and psych-
rockers Ring Them Bells had to be. Now Mikkeller’s Warpigs is releasing a brand new
beer named after the band’s explosive single ’Favorite Gun’. It is an imperial stout with an alcohol percent of 12,5% which has been lying in madeira barrels in the dodgy basement under Warpigs in the Meatpacking District of Copenhagen.
Mikkeller founder Mikkkel Borg Bjergsø says:
”I love Ring Them Bells because of the noise and the fuck you attitude which still has a lot of nuances, melody and poetry. That’s why it’s fun to brew beer for their music – and to collaborate with them. This is our second collaboration. The first one I am very proud of and this one is going to be ambitous, wild and delicious. The beer is heavy with lots of aftertaste from years of lying in barrels in Warpig’s basement.”
As a part of the collaboration, the band shot the video for ’Favorite Gun’ from their latest, critically acclaimed album ’Things That Come Slow’ in the basement under Warpigs while the beer was lying in the barrels.
