Manufactured by Foursquare, one of the most modern and environmentally friendly distilleries in the world.
Richard Seale, behind Foursquare is a visionary celebrity in the industry, and he is passionate in making his rum without the addition of sugar and color. Foursquare 2005 Single Blended Rum 12 years is a sequel to the popular 2004 edition and is again made with a blend of pot and column distilled rum, but this time it's aged in a full 12 years on Bourbon casks.
Ift. the lighter versions of Foursquare as Doorly's and RL Seale's, then Foursquare 2005 Rum got some added strength with the 59% ABV. The label specifies the type of barrel, shelf, distillery-method and bottling month. If you are into heavy that barrel-aged feel and rum from Barbados, this one you don't want to miss!
Tasting notes:
Nose: Intense, with a classic Bajan profile of vanilla and dried fruits with a touch more smoke and spice due to the high ABV.
Palate: Rich, deep notes of oak and spice at first, followed by some vanilla and dark chocolate and touches of baked banana. Warming. With water a little less oaky spice and more dried fruits. Entices you back to the glass for another sip.
