Belgian Ale BA in Sauternes barrels
Recipe # 1000 at De ‘Proef’ brouwerij just so happened to be one of ours. Ale Aged in Sauternes barrels in no less than 1000 days.
coñac and wine, sweet sauterne, raisins, wood, strong ale,
One of a kind I would say. It has the sweetness of the Sauterne but the power of the barrel aging that results in a strong ale with woody notes and raisins on the nose and mouth but also hints of a mix of cognac and wine. A massive YES in every sense.
