Two Headed Uklar
- NE IPA w/ Hallertau Blanc & El Dorado Hops, Pale Malt, Flaked Rye, Flaked Oats
This 5.5% pale ale uses an old-world grain not commonly used, flaked spelt, considered a subspecies of wheat that has been cultivated since approximately 5000 BC. In recent years spelt has been used as a wheat substitute, which we have done by replacing the flaked wheat addition in this pale ale in this latest release. This beer takes a bit of old with the new by using an old-world grain and pairing with a new innovative technology in hop processing which creates lupulin powder called Cryo Hops. This new process allows us to hop with a heavy hand and not worry about creating astringent or vegetal flavors that may occur from dry hopping on such high rates with traditional pellet hops. The flaked spelt creates a nice mouthfeel while the blend of Simcoe, Citra, and Hallertau Blanc provides a passion fruit blast, a touch of pine, and some berry like notes in every sip.
